Survivor Season 25 in Caramoan Island, Camarines Sur,Philippines! 3 Tribes Matsing, Tandang, and....
The start of production on season 25 of Survivor has been confirmed by local media in Caramoan, where it’s being filmed.
Camarines Sur’s governor told abs-cbnNEWS, “It’s a really big production but I cannot (give more details) because I signed a confidentiality agreement. It’s is being filmed right now and it’s going to air in September,” L. Ray Villafuerte told abs-cbnNEWS.com on Tuesday. That’s pretty definitive confirmation that this is the CBS, U.S. production—and a hilarious way to honor one’s confidentiality agreement.
The report says the governor “added that the shooting only started last week and will wrap up in August.” It did start early last week—that was evident to anyone who reads Survivor recaps and interviewers, as several regular entertainment writers disappeared last week, obviously to go on location. As to the end date, we know that season 26 will wrap up in June, although some crew members may linger as long as August to close down production.
As usual, the show involves a massive crew, which includes a number of locals. Villafuerte said that production there is “hiring 400 people. They pay them daily wage, they are hiring [vehicles, boats and all local supplies they buy so there’s serious business in the locality].”
During the finale for the twenty-fourth season of Survivor, titled Survivor: One World, Kim Spradlin emerged victorious, defeating seventeen other castaways and winning the million dollar prize. As the reunion episode featuring the results came to a close, the Philippines was announced as the location for the 25th season of the reality show.
Filming began in Caramoan, Camarines Sur earlier this year and is expected to wrap up this month. The new group of castaways will be divided into three teams in what host Jeff Probst calls “one of our most treacherous locations yet”. Three previous contenders who were airlifted out of the game in the past due to injury or illness will also get a second chance to be a part of the competition and vie for the title of Sole Survivor.
“Here, thousands of islands scattered over the Southeast Asian sea hide a dark and sinister secret,” says Probst in the trailer for Survivor: Philippines. “The waters are teeming with ravenous sharks and the land provides no refuge, deadly snakes rule the jungles, and the furious storms can break even the strongest of spirits.”
Survivor: Philippines will air on CBS beginning in September and will culminate in a new winner being announced at the end of the year. Probst has been the host of the American version of Survivor since its first season began twelve years ago. The show has spurred many variations and franchises all over the world including the Philippines’ own Survivor Philippines, which has produced four seasons including two celebrity editions.
In a 1-minute-20-second video, "Survivor: Philippines" has been officially unveiled. Three mystery contestants from previous episodes will return to the special 25th season shot entirely in the Caramoan, Camarines Sur.
In the preview video, Survivor host Jeff Probst calls the Philippines "one of our most treacherous locations yet."

The longest-running reality competition in the US just wrapped up shooting in Caramoan Island, Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region, a report by Entertainment Weekly confirms.
According to Entertainment Weekly’s online TV blog, the 25th season of the hit show will be called ‘Survivor: Philippines’. Host Jeff Probst confirmed the location and season title to Entertainment Weekly and said that they had just finished shooting on the island last March.
In the interview, Probst said that the latest season will have more twists.
“First we decided on three tribes. That was the first thing. And that was just an effort to change up the way the numbers were playing. People were locking into these alliances of five. So we thought, okay, let’s try a three-tribe scenario and see what that does. Once we had the three tribes, we talked about are we going to do returnees? I love returnees,” he said.
Popular reality TV blog Rickey.org reports that even the 26th season of “Survivor” will be shot in Caramoan.
Caramoan has been a favorite site for various non-US “Survivor” franchises. The countries that have shot “Survivor” seasons in Caramoan include: Serbia, Israel, Bulgaria, Sweden, and France.
